Google announced the project to provide high-speed public Wi-Fi in 400 train stations across India a year ago on SEPT 27, 2015. In its first segment, google announced first 100 stations that will have high-speed Wi-Fi by the end of 2016 and Mumbai Central become first railway station. And now first segment is finishing with 100th railway station Jaipur.

Company said, we look forward to the many more opportunities that Google Station will open up to every Indian and the stories we hope to hear from them.

Over 10 million people who pass through these 100 stations every day now have access to High-speed Wi-Fi. Where more than 100,000 people were already logged into the high-speed Wi-Fi every week, till 16th april.

In September google announced Google Station, which gives partners an easy set of tools to roll-out Wi-Fi hotspots in public places.

It was just first face of this project. Google with Indian Railways and RailTel will provide Wi-Fi at 300 more railway stations throughout the country.
