Commendable Gallantry By Havildar Hangpang Dada Before Attaining Martyrdom
General Dalbir Singh, COAS and all ranks of the Indian Army salute Havildar Hangpang Dada of Assam Regiment (35 RR), who made the supreme sacrifice for the Nation while fighting terrorists in J&K.
The NCO led operations from the front braving extremely harsh weather and most difficult terrain playing a pivotal role in elimination of four hardcore terrorists.
Four heavily armed terrorists who were attempting to infiltrate in the forward area of Naugam Sector through the inhospitable, snow covered and harsh terrain were eliminated on 26 May 2016. Havildar JD Hangpandade of Assam Regiment, a gritty soldier from the Tirap District of Arunachal Pradesh led his team with indomitable courage to bring effective fire on the terrorists and pinned them down.
Disregarding his personal safety he fought valiantly and got grievously injured during the fire fight.
While being evacuated to the Army Hospital, the brave heart succumbed to his injuries and made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. A solemn ceremony to pay homage to this braveheart was held today and GOC Chinar Corps laid wreath on the mortal remains of this Brave Son of India

Havildar Hangpang Dada belonged to Tirap district in Arunachal Pradesh and is survived by Wife and Children aged 11 years and 07 Years.
We pray to the almighty to give the family the courage and strength to bear this irreparable loss.
