Centenary Expedition of Chinar Corps TO Mt Harmukh
A team consisting of45 members of Indian Army mountaineers led by Col SS Shekhawat , who has scaled Mt Everest thrice earlier, scaled the lofty, sacred and formidable peak of Harmukh as part of the Chinar Corps’ centenary celebrations.
Harmukh with a peak elevation of 5148m lies in the north western Himalayan range. The advance to the summit started on 06May 2016 and after negotiating the challenging and at times treacherous stretches enroute, the team eventually summited Harmukh on 21 May 2016 at 1100 hour.
